IHD Community Meeting

February 7, 2022 • 12:10pm–1:00pm • Berkeley Way West Room 1104

Please join us—in person--on Monday 2/7 from 12:10–1pm in Berkeley Way West room 1104 meeting, as we launch the 2022 Colloquium series.

We look forward to gathering together in person—for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic—as a chance to connect socially and to reflect on the changes and challenges over the past 2 years, as well as opportunities moving forward.

We would like to consider, together, the enormous and ongoing impact this pandemic has had on the learning, development, and well-being of children, adolescents, and their families/communities—and the implications for the work we do.

We hope to discuss not only the challenges and priorities, but also the opportunities for positive impact—through science and policy. To consider some of the compelling questions where scientific advances and evidence-based approaches can best contribute. To discuss how transdisciplinary developmental research—and the effective use of this science—can inform practices and policies to improve the learning, development, health and well-being of children and adolescents.

We will also discuss some exciting opportunities at the state and federal level focusing on early development and learning, including investments in preschool and transitional kindergarten programs. And consider the rapidly growing role of information technology as an educational and social learning context for children and adolescents globally.

Please join us and contribute to the discussion of ideas and opportunities to work together—spanning psychology, education, public health and policy perspectives.
